This sweetheart came into the rescue with Leo. The cute pair were surrendered by their owner to County. They have been severely neglected. Again, these are OWNER SURRENDERS. How can anyone be so cruel? Lady was set to be euthanized. Their mattes were so bad and so tight there are actual wounds. The pair went straight from county to our amazing groomers at Molly & Friends Pet Grooming and they so graciously got them right in. Unfortunately the matting was so severe they couldn’t proceed. The circulation in their legs was compromised and their feet were cold.

Due to concerns about circulation they were immediately rushed to our outstanding vets office, Sun City West Animal Hospital. They were able to chip away the rock hard mattes and restore circulation. Leo was found to have a skin infection underneath his turtle shell of hair and around his eyes and will be on 3 different medications.

They are both safe now and out of danger of losing their limbs. They are clean, fed, happy to still be together and they both have a full senior check-up, bloodwork and dental in the near future. <3
