Barkley update!!
It’s been two weeks since we took in Barkley from the e-list and he’s doing absolutely amazing with foster mom and has officially integrated in as part of the pack. Despite everything he’s been through, this sweet senior has settled in beautifully. He adores other dogs, loves following his people around, and just wants to be close to someone who cares about him.
But medically, Barkley still has a long road ahead. His body condition is extremely poor, and eating has been a constant struggle due to his severely rotten teeth. We’ve been trying every food imaginable to find something he enjoys, and at times we’ve even had to syringe feed him just to keep food in his system. Our immediate goal is getting some weight back on him so he can safely undergo surgery. Barkley is also suspected to have testicular cancer, so once he’s stable enough, he will be neutered and the tissue sent out for pathology testing. We are committed to getting this boy the care and comfort he deserves after all he’s endured.
Through it all, Barkley remains incredibly sweet, loving, and trusting. He deserves the chance to finally know what it feels like to be safe, comfortable, and truly loved
This is our newest intake, Barkley. He’s facing some serious medical issues and badly needs a dental and his neuter because he likely has testicular cancer and we are praying it hasn’t metastasized.
